Facebook is undoubtedly the most profound social networking site that exists today in the World Wide Web but with so much personal data stored inside it, shouldn’t Facebook foster its privacy and security options?
Recently the official Facebook Fanpage of Mark Zuckerberg got hacked on which The Hacker started posting some rubbish about the Hackers Cup which a programming contest sponsored by Facebook.
Now, you must be wondering whether revealing all your private information on Facebook is safe or not.
Sure enough, Facebook is thinking in the same direction and since they don’t want to lose a single member from their network they have decided to add HTTPS surfing for every Facebook User.
The option to use Facebook on HTTPS is added to every user and thus changing your browsing filter to HTTPS is really simple. Follow the instruction given below:-
Step 1: Login to your Facebook Account and click on Account Settings
Step 2: Now Expand ‘Account Security’ Option and then enable the HTTPS Browsing Options
Now you can run Facebook on HTTPS. Facebook Developers Team recommends everyone to use the HTTPS Facebook if they access their account from public internet hotspots of cyber cafes.
However, it is not recommended to use HTTPS since it slows down page loading. Thus if you are accessing Facebook from a slow internet slow, please avoid it.
